Arjen Duinker fuses an inherent search for authenticity
to a poetic form never seen before in Dutch poetry
Arjen Duinker was born in Delft (The Netherlands) in 1956.
He has had a novel and nine volumes of poetry published
in The Netherlands, and one of his poems has been translated into 220

the Netherlands 2005 VSB Poetry Prize for his collection The Sun and the
World where, according to the judges,
he fuses an inherent search for authenticity to a poetic form never seen
before in Dutch poetry, "a languagemusic
where there are subtle and playful shifts in sound and meaning: an infectious
enthusiasm leaps from these poems
and joy in the naming of everyday thing."
